The Personal Stuff
Averyboo Arts is a new, woman-owned business run by super mom, Natalie Meza-Call and her 3 year old son, Avery. Natalie was a graphic designer & web professional for more than 15 years before she & her husband decided to become parents. Natalie made the decision to stay at home to raise their son, but as he got older, she began thinking about ways to go back to work that included Avery. After months of meditation, the idea for Averyboo Arts was born!

Natalie lives locally and wanted to support her community by opening her business in Bixby Knolls, Long Beach. With the help of amazing family & friends, it took nearly 8 months to refurbish the space and open Averyboo Arts in March 2009. Natalie is so grateful for the support she's received and for the opportunity to be an example to little Avery; teaching him to follow his dreams....

The Business Stuff
Averyboo Arts provides a unique service to the area, providing an arts & crafts “play space”. With an emphasis on "creative reuse"; we encourage children to be inventive by offering open access to our supplies, which include everything from glitter and glue to spark plugs and pinecones. We also have an assortment of building toys, art appreciation installations, and imaginative play activities. Our décor and activity stations were influenced by the Reggio Emilia and Waldorf methods of teaching; offering a space that is engaging, beautiful, organized, incorporates nature, and allows the child to guide the experience. Parents are welcome to join in too!

There are many families with young children in Bixby Knolls, but until recently, few businesses were child-centered. In addition, arts programs are slowly diminishing from our schools, leaving parents with the task of supplementing their childs’ creative development. Averyboo Arts fills this void by offering a variety of fun and enriching activities, plus - we clean up the mess!

Averyboo Arts is a creativity center and gallery for children 1-10 years old. In addition to art enrichment classes and birthday parties, we offer ‘Open Studio’; where children can spend as long as they like exploring our various activity stations including easel painting, craft tables, a variety of building blocks, art appreciation installations, dress-up with mini stage, and more. We also have an indoor “chalk walk” where kids can literally draw on the walls! Parents & caregivers are offered complimentary beverages, comfortable seating, and free WiFi access. All materials are included.
