Current Exhibition

The teachers of Averyboo Arts present a vibrant collection of works heralding the colors and spirit of an Autumn Forest.

Through a variety of mediums and personal styles, each piece reflects the warmth, transition, and quiet beauty that define the season. This exhibition not only showcases the talent and creativity of our educators but also celebrates the inspiration they draw from nature’s shifting palette. This page accompanies the miniature exhibition located:

4322 South Street, Lakewood, 90712

I took the opportunity to re-create a papier-mâché piece I originally began during our “Creative Creatures” summer camp. Students described the sculpture as “creepy but oddly pretty,” which inspired me to refine the design with polymer clay. Influenced by my Swedish heritage and medieval bestiaries, I sculpted  this whimsical forest creature. The canvas backdrop is a tribute to one of my favorite Disney artists, Eyvind Earle, who painted the gorgeous backgrounds in Sleeping Beauty.

“Kerfuffle” is a curious autumn owl, created with various fabrics from an overflowing scrap bin. I wanted this piece to evoke a cozy feeling—an invitation to slow down and take a breath. It was inspired in part by the fabric itself, and also by Japanese techniques such as Chigiri-e and Sashiko.

My artistic practice serves as an intentional pause in my life. Sometimes, it feels like a radical act to steal time for myself purely for the sake of creating. By focusing on my materials and the present moment, I can quiet external distractions and access a state of creative flow that feels deeply precious.

Foxes and cozy scarfs are some of my favorite things to paint when it comes time for Autumn! I love creating colorful art that makes people smile. Aside from drawing and painting, I also like to craft fun little trinkets out of clay and felt for my art shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/tramdoodles

This is a little painting about little things that make me think of Fall. I like to make whimsical illustrations, as well as more serious artworks that tell a story. I like to make things in all kinds of media, some of my favorites being paint and textiles.

This piece was inspired by my black cat and the glow of the harvest moon. I love dreaming up playful worlds for my subjects to live in and weaving colors together in harmony. Animals and nature are endless sources of inspiration, bringing happiness and meaning to both life and art.

Professionally, I paint custom pet portraits that honor the unique spirit of our beloved animal companions. Each portrait is a celebration of the love, joy, and special bonds that they bring into our lives.
